What’s New in PowerMetrics: Winter 2022
Summary: You asked for faster setup, clearer data history, and finer control in the modeller. This release focuses on speed and clarity so you can connect the right accounts, see exactly how much history is stored, and shape data the way you want.
While it’s been cold outside, our product team has been heating things up behind the scenes with fresh updates and powerful new features. Here’s a quick look at what’s new in PowerMetrics for Winter 2022.
Edit your account connection for instant metrics
Switch the connected account while editing an instant metric. No rebuild. This is handy when you manage multiple properties or ad accounts and need to validate results against a different login.
How to try it:
- Open an instant metric
- Select the connection setting
- Choose a different account and save
See how much metric data history is being stored
Quickly check storage and refresh details without leaving your dashboard. In the upper-right corner of the top navigation bar, you’ll see the number of days of stored data for each metric along with refresh information. Use this to plan retention, confirm expectations with stakeholders, and troubleshoot timing questions.
Automatic history backfill for Google Analytics and Google Analytics 4 instant metrics
PowerMetrics now backfills data history for all Google Analytics and Google Analytics 4 instant metrics. When you add these metrics, they include the most recent 2 weeks of data right away. After the auto‑backfill completes, they include up to 6 months of historical data. Backfill runs in the background, so you can keep working while history fills in.
Choose auto or custom names for columns in the modeller
Pick the naming style that fits your model:
- Automatic: Use the source column names as your headings
- Custom: Enter your own names for clarity and consistency across models
The new “Use text in row” option lets you set a column heading based on text from a specific row in your model. This is useful when a CSV includes header text inside the dataset rather than in the file header.
Optionally exclude rows in your custom metric data
In the custom data source modeller, use the “Exclude data before row x” option to drop warm‑up rows, notes, or pre‑header lines. This keeps your models tidy and prevents stray values from creeping into calculations and charts.
