What’s New in PowerMetrics: Winter 2023
Summary: Short days, long lists, fresh dashboards. Winter brings a flurry of quality‑of‑life updates that help you read trends faster, stay on brand, and avoid data surprises. Here’s what shipped and how it helps you keep momentum through the season.
Fresh looks and personalization
Light and dark mode
Pick a look that suits your eyes and your workspace. Choose light or dark mode, or set PowerMetrics to follow your device settings.
Dashboard background colours
Bring your brand into the room. Set a custom background colour so dashboards feel like a natural fit for your team and your displays.
Fill options for area charts
Choose gradient or solid fill. Gradient remains the default. Solid gives a crisp, flat style when you want a stronger visual block.
Faster control over time
New calendar design
A vertical‑scrolling calendar makes selecting metric and dashboard date ranges feel quick and predictable.
New custom range: Since
Use the new “Since” option to set a start date. The end date adjusts based on the latest available data for the metric.
More presets and “to date” toggles
Get one‑click “Month to date” and “Year to date”. When you choose “This week”, “This month”, or “This year”, you can toggle to show “Week to date”, “Month to date”, or “Year to date”.
Find and learn faster
Easier to spot what you just created
New metrics and dashboards get a NEW tag for 5 minutes after creation. You’ll see it in the left navigation and beside new metrics in your list.
About your metrics
The About page for every metric type has a cleaner layout with more helpful details, so you can understand context at a glance.
Featured data services
The All Services page highlights popular data services, which makes it faster to find common starting points.
Calculated metrics with sample data
Use the sample metrics included in every account to practice building calculated metrics before you connect your own sources.
Reliability and maintenance
Token expiry notices
Some services use tokens that expire. Get email alerts 7 days and 2 days before expiry, with a direct link to reauthorize and keep data flowing.
Refresh error indicators
Look for a red exclamation mark on an open data source or data feed name and in the library. It flags a refresh failure so you can address it quickly.
